Revealed, the Chester Plague Doctor

August 1st 2016

At Big Heritage, we have to admit that we were behind the mysterious “The Chester Plague Doctor” sightings around the city.

Before we open up the Sick to Death tourist attraction in the Bonewaldestorne’s and Water Tower on Chester Walls this August, we’ve been out in the city filming one of the stars of the attraction as part of the launch to our Sick to Death project.

Big Heritage’s Managing Director, Dean Paton explains, “We’ve been carrying out some discreet filming around the city centre for a new project which we’re keeping under wraps for now, but that we hope will wow the city this summer! We have been forced to reveal things early as people were getting a bit scared and also fake social media accounts kept popping up! Plague Doctors had beaks, but they certainly don’t tweet.”

After locals were initially a bit baffled by the viewings of a Plague Doctor in Chester, social media was brimming with sightings, which even made coverage in the national press with Mirror and TheLADbible mentioning Chester’s plague doctor.

We are assuring visitors and residents that the Plague Doctor won’t be taking to the streets of Chester anytime soon. Now you can meet the Plague Doctor, plus many more characters first hand at Sick to Death, one of the city centre’s first new visitor attractions for years.
